Join DNPs of Color for an interactive and energizing Policy Game Night, where advocacy meets strategy in a fun, low-pressure environment. This experience is designed to help nurses and future DNPs build confidence navigating the policy landscape while connecting with a community committed to driving change. Through engaging, game-based scenarios, participants will explore real-world policy challenges, practice decision-making, and deepen their understanding of how nursing voices influence healthcare systems and outcomes. Whether you’re new to policy or already engaged in advocacy, this is your space to learn, connect, and step more fully into your power. Come ready to think, collaborate, and have fun—because shaping the future of healthcare should feel as empowering as it is impactful.

Note: This is an in person event in Baltimore with virtual option.


Speaker: Devyn Barron-Nixon

Devyn Nixon is a family and cardiovascular nurse practitioner at PeaceHealth and an assistant professor in nursing at Western Washington University. She teaches Social Justice and Health Care, U.S. Leadership and Health Policy, and Community-Based Care for Vulnerable Populations. Devyn serves on the Committee for Advocacy and Public Policy with AcademyHealth as well as the DNPs of Color Advocacy Committee. Devyn is a recipient of the 2024 AANP State of Excellence Award for Washington State. Devyn is on track to graduate from Johns Hopkins University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Master of Public Health in May 2026. Her scholarship focuses on policy interventions for racial health equity. Her doctoral project is titled ‘Political Drivers of Mistrust and Black American Primary Care Utilization.
