Dr. Simran K. Tagore, DNP, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with nearly two decades of clinical experience in women’s health, obstetrics and gynecology, and reproductive care. She practices at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves as a Nurse Practitioner Quality Liaison for two Northern California service areas, where she supports nurse practitioner leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development across diverse clinical settings.

Dr. Tagore’s work is grounded in reproductive justice, health equity, and the belief that high-quality care must center patients’ lived experiences, autonomy, and voices. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from San José State University, where her doctoral project examined the use of the Reproductive Justice Framework in contraceptive counseling for Black and African American women, focusing on patient satisfaction and provider knowledge. Her work has been presented at regional and national conferences and reflects her commitment to advancing care that is both clinically excellent and equity-driven.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Tagore practiced in safety-net and academic medical settings, including Planned Parenthood, UCSF Medical Center, and county specialty clinics. She is a guest lecturer at the UCSF School of Nursing and Rutgers University and a contributing author to Clinical Guidelines for Advanced Practice Nursing.

As a speaker and clinician, Dr. Tagore is dedicated to advancing reproductive health care that is justice-centered, culturally responsive, and reflective of the communities we serve, while also supporting the growth and leadership of nurse practitioners within healthcare systems.
